Salt Spring Island Accommodation

Although there are other accommodation options on the island, we recommend that participants stay right in the seaside village of Ganges, at the Harbour House Hotel, especially if you are not renting a car. It is located at the edge of town and all amenities, including numerous shops, galleries, restaurants, are within easy walking distance of this hotel (0.6 km = 0.4 mi. from the hotel to the centre of town). If you don’t have a rental car, we will pick you up from/drop you off at Harbour House at the beginning and the end of each workshop day – the studio is a five-to-ten-minute drive from downtown Ganges. Please note that if you choose to stay anywhere else on the island you will need to have a rental car or use the local taxi service (Silver Shadow Taxi, 250-537-3030) to get back and forth, or choose a B&B in easy walking distance from the studio. We only offer to do the drive between the studio and Harbour House.

If you prefer to stay somewhere else, just Google accommodation on Salt Spring Island. There are many good choices across a broad price range.

  • Please book your rooms as soon as possible after signing up for a workshop, especially if you want to switch to a non-view room; there are not always 6 non-view rooms available on our workshops dates
  • At the time of booking please:
    • give them your own credit card information to hold the room
    • advise them that you would like to switch to a non-view room, if you so wish
    • advise them that you are eligible for the corporate room rate as arranged by Leatherbarrow Glass Studio
  • View Rooms (queen bed, en suite bathroom) = High Season ($138.60/night not including taxes, plus $5.00 for double occupancy); Low Season ($75.60/night not including taxes, plus $5.00 for double occupancy)
  • Non-view Rooms (queen bed, en suite bathroom) = High Season ($93.60/night not including taxes, plus $5.00 for double occupancy); Low Season ($48.60/night not including taxes, plus $5.00 for double occupancy)

NB: High Season = May 15 - October 15; Low Season = October 16 - May 14
